What Air Supply Song Am I? Air Supply Live in Gensan

Unknown | Friday, September 18, 2009 | 5comments
The Air Supply Concert Live in General Santos on October 2 is one of the much-awaited big events in the city. I’m not that avid follower of the band or their music but I’m interested to know more about them. Mas kilala nga ni mama ang grupo because in their time, sobrang sikat ng mga kanta nila like Lost in Love, The One That You Love and Here I Am.

I really explored the olden times of Air Supply and according to Wikipedia.Org, the group was created in May 1975 while performing in the Australian production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice musical, Jesus Christ Superstar. It sounds interesting, isn’t it? After a year, they formed 5 members in a group and created lots of albums and it was released in the international market. Pumatok ang kanilang kanta sa buong mundo at doon sumikat pa lalo ang grupo. Most of their songs were included in 1980 U.S. Hit Charts like the famous “Every Woman in the World” which tops in number 5 and “All Out of Love” in number 2. Some of their songs were used in movies like "I Can Wait Forever" that was included in a scene in the blockbuster movie Ghostbusters. As of today, there are 2 members left in the group. It consists of British guitarist and vocalist Graham Russell and Australian lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock. They’re having a World Tour this year and luckily they chose General Santos as their 2nd city in the country to perform live in stage after Subic.

“What Air Supply Song Am I?”, when I heard this question, the song All Out of Love comes in my mind. Well, it’s not because of that song was very famous or simply just I like the melody of the song, but it reminds me of my dad who passed away last October 30, 2 years ago. Noon, it’s so hard to accept na nawala siya kahit alam namin na may sakit siya at may taning na ang kanyang buhay. Even my mom forced herself to accept the fact. Just accept it. Mahirap man tanggapin na nawala siya pero life must move on because we know that he’s protecting us from harm. Just look at the brighter side. He’s now happy with his 2nd life in the kingdom with the Father, the Creator together with his sibling and my Grandparents as well. That’s why it’s “ALL OUT OF LOVE” =)
I'm lying alone with my head on the phone

Thinking of you till it hurts
I know you hurt too but what else can we do
Tormented and torn apart
I wish I could carry your smile and my heart
For times when my life feels so low
It would make me believe what tomorrow could bring
When today doesn't really know, doesn't really know
I 'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you
I know you were right believing for so long
I 'm all out of love, what am I without you
I can't be too late to say that I was so wrong
I want you to come back and carry me home
Away from this long lonely nights
I'm reaching for you, are you feeling it too
Does the feeling seem oh so right
And what would you say if I called on you now
And said that I can't hold on
There's no easy way, it gets harder each day
Please love me or I'll be gone, I'll be gone
I 'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you
I know you were right believing for so long
I 'm all out of love, what am I without you
I can't be too late to say that I was so wrong
Oh, what are you thinking of?
What are you thinking of?
Oh, what are you thinking of?
What are you thinking of?
I 'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you
I know you were right believing for so long
I 'm all out of love, what am I without you
I can't be too late to say that I was so wrong

And here’s the MTV of All Out of Love:

It’s kinda happy to hear this song kasi maaalala ko when my dad was still alive, he was keep on playing this song in the record (big CD player in their times, plaka player). Air Supply really affixed to the people and the history of music because of their lovely voices, music, and it gives inspiration to us, not only Filipinos but all the people in this world. =)
I would like to thank Mr. Avel Manansala for inviting me to join and organizing "What Air Supply Song Are You? Blog Contest (yehey! thanks sir!).
