And I'm back after 2 years! Featuring Mi'Grande's best-sellers!

Unknown | Sunday, March 15, 2015 | 0 comments
If you're craving for pizza and burgers, Mi'Grande Restaurant is the best spot!

The store ambiance was bright, with high ceilings and light apple green wall colors. On the other side, they have this cut-out wooden planks, which reminds me of a wooden puzzle.

So I ordered my all-time favorite lasagna, which is a little bit costly compared to other restaurants (around 95 pesos). But take note: REALLY WORTH THE PRICE! With an ooey gooey cheesy melt on top, ground beef and very tasting tomato sauce, it's a tried and true crowd-pleaser.

I also tried their all-time favorite, and most probably their best-seller, White Gravy Sauce Burger (if I'm not mistaken) platter. This flavorful beef gravy is truly a burger from heaven! It costs around 115 pesos.

Visit them along National Highway, beside Old Yellow Bus Terminal, General Santos. Or you may visit their Koronadal Branch at General Santos Drive. They're open until 11pm.

Giligan's Veranza Mall: Afforda-meals

Unknown | Monday, July 08, 2013 | 6comments
I have a tight budget, and I don't know where to eat in Veranza.

Veranza Mall, from SouthCotabato.org
I just remember that I only have P200 in my pocket. Since I went to Veranza with my friends, I need to discover something affordable for the price below P200.

Giligan's, yes. It's Giligan's. Something new in General Santos.

Giligan's Restaurant will take you to a food trip of endless possibilities without sailing out to the sea. Everything is fresh, from sea foods to tasty fried chicken and crispy pata. With its vibrant and cozy environment, you'll surely love to dine at Giligan's.

Giligan's Veranza Mall is their 2nd branch in Mindanao, with existing SM Lanang Premier. At first, you'll be mesmerized with their sailor concept, offers you a peek of their eclectic collection of marine art acquired all over the world, where some are even authentic antiques hence they are safely encased.

99 Rice All You Can Meal Promo of Giligan's Veranza Mall.
But back to the main basic original topic, Giligan's offers 99 combo meals, all for 99 pesos! And my favorite part, rice all you can! It makes me more "baboy".

Their 99 pesos promo comes with 10 choices of meals:

  • Fried Chicken
  • Sisig
  • 4 pcs. Pork BBQ
  • Sweet and Spicy Squid
  • Chicken Inasal
  • Lechon Kawali
  • Fish Fillet
  • Garlic Chicken
  • Inihaw na Baboy
  • Lumpiang Shanghai
Since we are that "manol much" (ignorant) with their meals, Dale tried Garlic Chicken, Genevieve ordered Sisig (which is pork) and Lechon Kawali for yours truly.

Garlic Chicken, I love its aroma and crispiness of the chicken.
Lechon Kawali, all-time favorite.
Pork Sisig, best-tasting sisig next to Razon's SM General Santos.
You can add 21 pesos for iced tea.

I look so fat in this pic. With my awesome friends Dale, Genevieve and Edward. (from left to right)
Total costs: P120 per meal. Come to think that it is rice all you can meal!

Ratings? 5 as the highest.
  • Food: 4 stars (delicious!)
  • Service: 4 stars (very accommodating)
  • Place: 5 stars (pirate on a ship-theme, awesome)
  • Must-try: Pork Sisig 99 Pesos Rice All You Want Meal

Unknown | Friday, August 03, 2012 | 3comments
Since everyone is excited for the much-awaited Grand Opening of SM City General Santos this August 10, here are sneak peak of some restaurants that will change the dining experience in General Santos.

Soon to open stores in SM City General Santos

1. Karate Kid. It will be the newest addition to quick-service dining restaurant that touches the Japanese and American Cuisine. Well, that is something new! They offers wide variety of high-end dishes at affordable prices. Karate Kid - SM City General Santos will be their first branch outside Luzon (since they have 20 existing branches around Metro Manila and Luzon). Well, look at their 99-Peso Promo! I hope I can avail this on the 10th of August! Something to lookout for.

A must-try 99'ers Meal

2. Tong Yang Shabu-Shabu is another Japanese-Filipino Restaurant. If you're not familiar with "shabu-shabu" term, then you might get the wrong idea. Shabu-shabu is a Japanese variant of hot pot. This restaurant offers more of a buffet style of dining, well obviously an eat and drink all you can dining at affordable price. This might change the dining lifestyle of food lovers in Gensan. If you love to eat in an all you can restaurants, then add Tong Yang on the list.

3. Sumo Sam - Who loves Marvin Agustin? Well you should love his restaurant, too! And yes, he definitely owns Sumo Sam Restaurant. Sumo Sam is a Japanese-American restaurant that boasts an extensive menu - from basic sashimi and sushi platters to sukiyaki, udons, and bacon-wrapped tempura. There are even Japanese-style burgers, crunchy tuna roll, and a wide variety of tofu dishes. Don't worry, aside from those mouth-watering dishes, you will also be served by no other than Marvin himself. *Kidding

4. Max's Restautant - Another Pinoy Pride of Restaurants will set up the shores of the Tuna Capital. Max's Restaurant is the House that Fried Chicken Built. Every General is craving for their world famous Sarap-to-the-Bones Max's Fried Chicken. Aside from heavy chicken meals, they also offers Barkada Buffet (Good for 4) and Create-Your-Own-Merienda-Mix for 99 Pesos. And hey, look at this one! Free Regular Chicken Coupons in their Grand Opening on August 10!

Max's Opening Treat

5. Congo Grille is a chain of family restaurants named for its African jungle-themed interiors. In contrast to the decor, the cuisine is predominantly Filipino with a smidgen of Western and Chinese foods. The award-winning restaurant is also popularly known as The Sisig King for its recent achievements in a food feast celebrating the favorite Filipino dish. And on August 10, they will conquer the Tuna City (their first branch outside Luzon) and will satisfy our cravin' taste buds with their filipino dishes.

That's just some of them. So, are you ready to kill your diet?

Cocktail Doughnuts of Cello's

Unknown | Friday, May 18, 2012 | 2comments
I am a doughnut lover. I really love eating sweets and breads with holes. I've been craving for doughnuts (not Dunkin' or Mister Donuts) since I arrived here in Davao for my on-the-job training. I tasted the overrated Krispy Kreme (since KCC and Robinsons are selling boxes of KK) and Gonuts Donuts (with two branches in Davao) but still I'm looking for a doughnut that is not that sweet and expensive.

I discovered Cello's Doughnuts and Dips when I strolled for something pasalubong for my family waiting in General Santos. Well, they had this free taste before buying their product and I find it very delicious most especially their cheese powder sprinkled on top of their honey glaze. So I bought a Cocktail Doughnuts, 15 different flavors of doughnuts in a box, for only 180 pesos. It's very cheap for a delicious doughnut. I certainly love the saltiness and sweetness of honey glaze which forms a great balance.

Cello's SM Davao (Photo grabbed from ezyummy.blogspot.com)

Now if you’re wondering what the Cocktail Doughnuts are, they’re basically the same delicious doughnut you can expect from Cello’s – just made smaller and cuter. It’s perfect for sharing with friends over coffee or bringing home to the family as a surprise. You can even mix-up the flavors because each box can contain any of these awesome flavors: Cheese, Oreo, Chocolate, Cinnamon Crunch, Double Chocolate, Choco-Oreo, ChocoChip Peanut Butter, Cinnamon, Peanut Butter-Oreo, M&M, Chocolate Sprinkled and White Chocolate.

Cello’s bakes some of the most mouth-watering doughnuts in town and their doughnuts are baked and served fresh, including the toppings, which are made from only real ingredients. The dough itself is soft, firm and honey glazed just right and not too sweet. I always buy a box of Cocktail Doughnuts when I go home to General Santos. It is a worth PASALUBONG for the family. :)

You can visit their kiosk in SM City Davao, 1st Level Main Mall, infront of SM Supermarket and McDonald's or call (082) 302-1960 or in their Davao Sales Branch, Sales St., Chinatown, Sta. Ana (right across Chimes Specialty Store) or call (082) 282-1960. For more info, visit www.cellosdoughnuts.com. :)
