And I'm back after 2 years! Featuring Mi'Grande's best-sellers!

Unknown | Sunday, March 15, 2015 | 0 comments
If you're craving for pizza and burgers, Mi'Grande Restaurant is the best spot!

The store ambiance was bright, with high ceilings and light apple green wall colors. On the other side, they have this cut-out wooden planks, which reminds me of a wooden puzzle.

So I ordered my all-time favorite lasagna, which is a little bit costly compared to other restaurants (around 95 pesos). But take note: REALLY WORTH THE PRICE! With an ooey gooey cheesy melt on top, ground beef and very tasting tomato sauce, it's a tried and true crowd-pleaser.

I also tried their all-time favorite, and most probably their best-seller, White Gravy Sauce Burger (if I'm not mistaken) platter. This flavorful beef gravy is truly a burger from heaven! It costs around 115 pesos.

Visit them along National Highway, beside Old Yellow Bus Terminal, General Santos. Or you may visit their Koronadal Branch at General Santos Drive. They're open until 11pm.

Pizza is like, food made from heaven. It's my comfort food. I tried every pizza stores here in Gensan but nothing beats the best tasting New York's Finest of Yellow Cab Pizza. Luckily they have it here.

Giligan's Veranza Mall: Afforda-meals

Unknown | Monday, July 08, 2013 | 6comments
I have a tight budget, and I don't know where to eat in Veranza.

Veranza Mall, from SouthCotabato.org
I just remember that I only have P200 in my pocket. Since I went to Veranza with my friends, I need to discover something affordable for the price below P200.

Giligan's, yes. It's Giligan's. Something new in General Santos.

Giligan's Restaurant will take you to a food trip of endless possibilities without sailing out to the sea. Everything is fresh, from sea foods to tasty fried chicken and crispy pata. With its vibrant and cozy environment, you'll surely love to dine at Giligan's.

Giligan's Veranza Mall is their 2nd branch in Mindanao, with existing SM Lanang Premier. At first, you'll be mesmerized with their sailor concept, offers you a peek of their eclectic collection of marine art acquired all over the world, where some are even authentic antiques hence they are safely encased.

99 Rice All You Can Meal Promo of Giligan's Veranza Mall.
But back to the main basic original topic, Giligan's offers 99 combo meals, all for 99 pesos! And my favorite part, rice all you can! It makes me more "baboy".

Their 99 pesos promo comes with 10 choices of meals:

  • Fried Chicken
  • Sisig
  • 4 pcs. Pork BBQ
  • Sweet and Spicy Squid
  • Chicken Inasal
  • Lechon Kawali
  • Fish Fillet
  • Garlic Chicken
  • Inihaw na Baboy
  • Lumpiang Shanghai
Since we are that "manol much" (ignorant) with their meals, Dale tried Garlic Chicken, Genevieve ordered Sisig (which is pork) and Lechon Kawali for yours truly.

Garlic Chicken, I love its aroma and crispiness of the chicken.
Lechon Kawali, all-time favorite.
Pork Sisig, best-tasting sisig next to Razon's SM General Santos.
You can add 21 pesos for iced tea.

I look so fat in this pic. With my awesome friends Dale, Genevieve and Edward. (from left to right)
Total costs: P120 per meal. Come to think that it is rice all you can meal!

Ratings? 5 as the highest.
  • Food: 4 stars (delicious!)
  • Service: 4 stars (very accommodating)
  • Place: 5 stars (pirate on a ship-theme, awesome)
  • Must-try: Pork Sisig 99 Pesos Rice All You Want Meal

Cocktail Doughnuts of Cello's

Unknown | Friday, May 18, 2012 | 2comments
I am a doughnut lover. I really love eating sweets and breads with holes. I've been craving for doughnuts (not Dunkin' or Mister Donuts) since I arrived here in Davao for my on-the-job training. I tasted the overrated Krispy Kreme (since KCC and Robinsons are selling boxes of KK) and Gonuts Donuts (with two branches in Davao) but still I'm looking for a doughnut that is not that sweet and expensive.

I discovered Cello's Doughnuts and Dips when I strolled for something pasalubong for my family waiting in General Santos. Well, they had this free taste before buying their product and I find it very delicious most especially their cheese powder sprinkled on top of their honey glaze. So I bought a Cocktail Doughnuts, 15 different flavors of doughnuts in a box, for only 180 pesos. It's very cheap for a delicious doughnut. I certainly love the saltiness and sweetness of honey glaze which forms a great balance.

Cello's SM Davao (Photo grabbed from ezyummy.blogspot.com)

Now if you’re wondering what the Cocktail Doughnuts are, they’re basically the same delicious doughnut you can expect from Cello’s – just made smaller and cuter. It’s perfect for sharing with friends over coffee or bringing home to the family as a surprise. You can even mix-up the flavors because each box can contain any of these awesome flavors: Cheese, Oreo, Chocolate, Cinnamon Crunch, Double Chocolate, Choco-Oreo, ChocoChip Peanut Butter, Cinnamon, Peanut Butter-Oreo, M&M, Chocolate Sprinkled and White Chocolate.

Cello’s bakes some of the most mouth-watering doughnuts in town and their doughnuts are baked and served fresh, including the toppings, which are made from only real ingredients. The dough itself is soft, firm and honey glazed just right and not too sweet. I always buy a box of Cocktail Doughnuts when I go home to General Santos. It is a worth PASALUBONG for the family. :)

You can visit their kiosk in SM City Davao, 1st Level Main Mall, infront of SM Supermarket and McDonald's or call (082) 302-1960 or in their Davao Sales Branch, Sales St., Chinatown, Sta. Ana (right across Chimes Specialty Store) or call (082) 282-1960. For more info, visit www.cellosdoughnuts.com. :)

Mooon Cafe's Yummy Chicken Mozzarella

Unknown | Friday, May 18, 2012 | 2comments
I was sooooooo hungry when I had my 1st training as an intern in Callbox and I promised to treat myself somewhere na madali akong mabusog. Then I saw this Mexican-Insipred Restaurant inside Abreeza Mall.

Mooon Cafe Abreeza Mall (Photo grabbed from ormanmanansala.com)
Mooon Cafe, originally from Cebu City, is a Mexican inspired eating place much loved by Cebuano's. The menu is typically internal cuisine, but with more focus on Mexican fare and interior is reminiscent of a Mexican cantina. Oh so nosebleed!

Chicken Mozzarella
I was attracted with the Chicken Mozzarella in the Menu because it sounds more like a pizza. As a pizza fanatic, I settled on Chicken Mozzarella. It has four breaded chicken strips topped with melted mozzarella cheese and place on top of a fresh tomato mixture, much like a salsa. Every bite tastes like a pizza, fried chicken and salsa mixed into one great combination. It has the perfect blend of herbal taste of tomatoes and the cheesy sweet and sour flavor of mozzarella cheese. It taste like heaven!

For more info, visit Mooon Cafe at 2nd Level of Abreeza Mall between Hukad sa Cowrie and Bibgy's Cafe. You may email them at moooncafedavao@yahoo.com or call them at (082) 321-0069.

I'll be surprise if they will have one in SM City General Santos! :)

MochiCreme's Cutest Experience

Unknown | Friday, May 18, 2012 | 0 comments
I am a real fan of eating ice cream especially the overrated Magnum of Selecta but it's kinda heavy for my wallet to buy one and one and even thrice at the time because of its "intense chocolate goodness" that melts on your mouth.

The actual MochiCreme with packaging
MochiCreme in different flavors and colors
During my on-the-job training here in Davao, I hanged out at Abreeza Mall looking for a place to have snacks. I discovered something yummier compared to the overrated Magnum Ice Cream. It's like the cutest ice cream I've ever seen.

MochiCreme in Abreeza Mall, Davao
MochiCreme is a Japanese confection made from mochi (pounded sticky rice) with an ice cream filling. This is kinda new to me since I don't eat Japanese foods or deserts. I tried their Green Tea Matcha (P48.00) that is actually in Green Tea Flavor with Vanilla Ice Cream inside but their best seller is their Black Sesame (P48.00) which is actually the best mochi creme I ever tasted. It's like cookies and cream with yummier taste. I also tried their Azuki Red Bean (since red is my fave color) for P48.00 and their Blue Vanilla for the same price. (I'll try other flavors, next time)

Good to know that MochiCreme Japanese Ice Cream has two branches here in Davao and three kiosks in Manila.

Abreeza Ayala Mall, 2nd Floor near Watsons and Karimadon

SM City Davao Ecoland, 2nd Floor in front of SM Foodcourt

SM Megamall Bldg. A, near SM Cinema

SM Mall of Asia 2nd Floor, Main Bldg.

SM North Edsa

Well I hope they will have one also in SM City General Santos. Knock-knock. :))

*MochiCreme is not available for franchising.

Lachi's Davao
Lachi's! Lachi's! Kapag Lachi's, ang maalaala ko lang 'eh Sans Rival Cakes, my fave cakes of all the cakes. I've been crazy and drooling over Goldilocks and Red Ribbon's Sans Rival Cakes. I don't think that they have the same taste. Lachi's still the best! Well, let's explore what Lachi's can offer to their drooling customers. DROOL!

They have this Periodic Table of the Desserts where you can find the highest-lowest calorie content of a dessert plus their funny scientific names. I really had a hard time looking for having the highest calorie content but thanks to Ate Dulce Rose Lara for helping me out. Guess what? I really need to eat lots of lots of Banana Split! Fingers crossed! :)

DFAT 2011 Team in action, and hungry!

Damn the fridge is full of cakes! But the bad thing is that, "I DON'T EAT ANY KIND OF DURIAN DELICACIES.", even cakes or candies. Yikes. But according to the Lachi's owners Melvin and Mike Aviles, who are actually twins by the way, Durian Sans Rival is their best selling dessert. Still, I don't have the guts to try that out. :)

NOM NOM NOM. You can't leave the crib without trying their best-est desserts, from tarts to cakes, yummy chocolate and frozen cakes, plus their top-selling Sans Rival Cakes (their specialty). NOM NOM. Tulo laway ever! :)

Lachi's is not about desserts. And don't dare to look at those pictures! You should try them all!

Well, if you're hungry, don't hesitate to visit Lachi's Sans Rival atbp. crib located at Ruby Street, Marfori Heights, Davao City. Still confused? Check the Foursquare link: https://foursquare.com/venue/3258221 to give you directions. :)

Unknown | Saturday, May 28, 2011 | 2comments
Crepelato Gelato, here I come!

Been wondering if what is this Crepelato Gelato, it is famous in Davao for having the best gelato. And finally, napasakamay ko na ang sinasabi nga nilang, the best and home of gelato in Davao. NOM NOM NOM.

Well indeed they have the best-est gelato so far with their home-made ice cream plus crunchy toppings with their sweetest chocolate syrup all over the ice cream. Perfect for this summer, and even for rainy season! Don't just SIT there and crave for their gelato, just visit their coolest crib at NCCC Mall in Maa, Davao City or other branches at Annex 1 Jocar Building, Mayon Street, (fronting Old Sampaguita Inn). For inquiries and reservations, call them at 082-221-3128. You may send them email at crepelato_gelato@yahoo.com.

Pink-ish Crib which is awesome to my eyes (Well, not that pink-fanatic!), and there's a free taste to your desired ice cream before ordering it! Which is another awesome-ish by Crepelato Gelato.

NOM NOM. Of all those home-made ice cream, I chose this Cappuccino Gelato since I'm a coffee addict! YUM NOM NOM!

DFAT 2011 Team! Damn missing those guys! :)

Don't forget to catch their billboard along Bangkerohan! :)
