Searching for the perfect match?

Unknown | Sunday, July 21, 2013 | 3comments
I'm 20. Getting the borderline of loveless. Does it mean there's no perfect match for me?

I was thinking, I want to have a right girlfriend at the right time in the right place. That was 4 years ago. That 4-year duration of searching for the right girl was so difficult, I guess one of the toughest. If not, the hardest.

During that 4-year timeline, I was able to mingle with different girls. One there, she was a call center agent. She was active in night time. But how about day time? Always sleeping. I remember that I invited her to have movie date, but I guess when I called her, she was sleeping. 2 in the afternoon. Scourging hot outside. 32 degrees. But no one is answering the call. The worst thing she did was when I came to her office in IT Park and bought some snacks for her. It was 12 midnight. Mosquitoes bit me. Waiting for her break for like 3 hours. I kept on calling her phone, but sad to say she left her phone in the locker while she was having her work. After 3 hours, I left her food with a letter on it saying, "This would be the last. Thanks for loving and waiting me." I left the place at 4 in the morning. Worth waiting.

After few days, I didn't receive any calls from her, even a single text message. But I was expecting for that thing to come. I'm that kind of person that can easily forget those trouble times. And yes, for that short span of time, I forgot her.

After a month, I met this pretty awesome girl in school in her sophomore years. That was my first time I saw this pretty creature. I'm kinda good in stalking people, so I was able to know her background. She's studying Education major in Biology. Been to a lot of beauty pageants in their hometown, and also taking her courage to join major beauty pageants in the city. Yeah, I know, she's a good looking person. She was my inspiration for 3 months. Because of my strong connections with her closest friends, I was able to talk to her, heart to heart. Exchanging quotes and jokes over text messages, and even talking on phone for 3 hours per night.

We consider our relationship as "close friends". But because of our sudden closeness to each other, there are times that something is rumbling over my mind. I was getting paranoid when she joined in a modeling group. No texts, calls or even communication over Facebook. Her timeline is all about this modeling group. And there was a rumor that she was currently dating this tall and good looking guy from the group. Oh well, I guess that it girl is not for me.

Until now, I don't have any news from her. Well I guess she found her knight and shining armor. How sad she didn't pick me to be part of her love story.

While I'm desperate to find the perfect match of my love story, there is this simple girl, on her pony-tailed hair, with interesting mole in her upper lips. We're about of the same age, 20. She's funny, funny to be with. One talk and everyone will laugh that there's no tomorrow. But for her, it is a normal talk. She keeps on complaining that we made her a laughing stuff.

I met her in my working place. She came all the way from the mountains with copper and gold beneath. Her hometown seems to be an interesting place to live. There are lots of gold and minerals, just like her face. Shining like a diamond. I asked her frankly, "Why you're so beautiful?", then she answered, "because I am.", then everyone in the office laughed out loud because of the way she delivered the message. She is so funny, really. All-in-one, full package. It's like, I want to bring her home like a stuffed toy.

Now, I'm still searching for the right girl. I guess the mole girl will complete the criteria. But the question is, is she the right one? Will God continue to write my love story? Or someone else is waiting for my presence? Then the who?

How to deal with Plastic People

Unknown | Sunday, January 15, 2012 | 8comments
This is an awkward blog post but since I'm some sort of emo today, I will make some naughty details on how to deal with plastic people.

Fake or plastic people are like everywhere. You can't really imagine that it might be your close friend, friend of friend, or perhaps your girlfriend/boyfriend. Having these people around will add spice on your life. These people (including myself as a plastic one) are having difficult time with their lives, or shall I say having a psychological problem. It is a mild situation where this person might having insecurities, backstabbing disease, or might perhaps having I-don't-know-what-happened-to-them virus. It's kinda viral to have these symptoms.

You can't easily identify plastic people, they are so brilliant in making false statements. They are considered as brilliant hypnotize-rs. You didn't notice their supernatural powers in backstabbing, kasi iba talaga sila kung magpasira ng tao.

Based on my experience, I got a mild condition where some of my friends are plastics, and I am also part of those group. I tend to make plastic sa kanila, at feel ko naman 'eh nagpapaplastik lang din sila. Sasabay nalang kaming lulutang kapag nasa tubig na kami. I feel so great kapag I backstabbed them with other friends. "Oy, si ganito ganyan, jusko! Napakaplastic (eh nagsalita din!)". Tulad nalang sa eksenang 'to, "Walang hiya talaga tong si ganito. Sinabi niya na ganyan ganito daw! P*nyeta!" ganito kapag nakatalikod. Kung nakaharap naman, "Hello, oy musta kana? Sus, antagal na nating hindi nagkita. Namiss kita tuloy. (Yuck!)" Napakaplastik naman 'tong mga taong ito. Tsk!

Based on my experience, I got this horrifying answer when I fixed a date with his (the plastic one) trusted friend and treated him somewhere (e.g. McDonald's) para mag-usap-usap lang. After how many hours, he just spilled the bean. :))

How to avoid those loud and aggressive plastics? By not noticing them that they're exist. Been doing that until now. Others continue to have fake relationships or making plastics with other people. 'Yun din ang ayaw ko kasi nagpapakaplastic din ako. I have to avoid that condition para hindi ako masanay na maging plastic. I tend to ignore plastic people. Smile, don’t say anything and just walk away. This can be one of the hardest things to do sometimes, I’ve had several such experiences of my own, it wasn’t easy, but it can be done again with practice. The trick is to just “turn off”, cut the line, and not look back when you’ve made your decision (bad or good).

Be real. Be you. Well, practically that statement is too lame to understand. Everyone knows this rule. But sometimes, we are not real to ourselves. Because of insecurities with other people perhaps. Just be you. No matter who you are, or what you do in your life. We are created to be this way. As what Lady Gaga said, "I was born this way", so look at her now. A little drama drag queen.

Always tell the truth. When someone asked you, you should answer him/her honestly. Sometimes getting plastic disease started in this kind of situation. I don't know what would be the reason for this but we need to avoid telling lies.

Not to backbite with other people. You should control your mindset not to backbite any person, thing or animal. They have emotions that can kill you also. So beware of that mindset. Backbiting is like committing a crime, a murder to be exact. Stabbing the victim by using your words.

If you have a big, big, big and major problem regarding plastics, you need to consult a psychiatrist. :))

Plastics are those people having miserable lives. Well indeed, it is true. You’ll feel as if the whole world is out to “get you” each day, and you having to use your mask as a shield to deflect the crap that’s coming at you. Urgh! >.<

So good luck beating those ugly and pesky little plastics. :)

Sendong (Washi) Aftermath with Photos

A viral photo spreading over the social networking sites touched my heart about the aftermath of Tropical Storm Sendong in Northern Mindanao. (Photo by annalyn.net)
The whole country mourns as the death toll rises to 1249 people (and still counting) and hundreds more are missing after Tropical Storm Sendong (International name Washi) ravaged Southern Philippines last December 16. It brought around 400mm of rainfall within 10 hours that caused heavy floods (around 10 meters high) in Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, Dumaguete, and some other parts of Southern Visayas and Northern Mindanao. It was unexpected catastrophe that brought Sendong as the world's worst typhoon disaster in 2011.

On the following day, a massive relief operation involving the evacuation of 100,000 people occurred. Approximately 20,000 soldiers were mobilized to assist in recovery efforts and evacuations. The Philippine Coast Guard was dispatched to search for missing people after villages were reported to have been swept out to sea. Sixty people were rescued off the coast of El Salvador, Misamis Oriental and another 120 in the waters near Opol township.

President Benigno Aquino III visited Cagayan de Oro and Iligan on December 20, 2011, and declared a state of national calamity in the affected provinces. The total cost of damages to agriculture and infrastructure is estimated at P999.9 million according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council. The President also appealed to its citizens to help the victims in their way of celebrating Christmas in his Christmas Message.

Here are some snapshots of the aftermath (Photos by theatlantic.com):

Overseas humanitarian aid is pouring in for victims of tropical storm Sendong in the Philippines including China, United States, European Union, neighboring countries in South East Asia, Japan, Indonesia, United Nations Council, and among others.

Private organizations and citizens extended their relief efforts to the victims of tropical storm Sendong. Tons of relief goods (foods, clothing, bottled water) were distributed from different organizations and individuals. Shipping and courier companies offered free delivery of goods to Cagayan de Oro and Iligan from anywhere in the Philippines. Netizens also extended their help through donating money via PayPal and other online banking accounts. Giant TV networks held a nationwide telecom and massive media promotion to help the victims of tropical storm Sendong.

The victims of tropical storm Sendong still celebrated the Christmas in evacuation centers. DSWD packed noche buena items for the victims in order for them to celebrate the birth of Christ despite of the calamity happened.

Valentine's Note

Unknown | Monday, February 14, 2011 | 1comments
Valentines anywhere, valentines everywhere. Kahit sa FB valentines topic nila. Fave flower for valentines 'eh red roses, kung may kaya 'eh pink roses, parang 'yung sa patay na bulaklak with stand. LOL. Fave movie to watch on valentines 'eh ang walang kamatayang A Crazy Little Thing Called Love. A Thai movie about this ugly duckling turned into a beautiful princess just to get the attention of this hearthrob in school but after the long run, 'eh inlove din pala 'tong lalaking 'to sa bida. Parang unbelievable, unpredictable ang story with twists and turns. Fave resto na rin ata during valentines ang mga resto na nag-ooffer ng eat-all-you-can with serenade, banda at kaliwa't kanang freebies. Meron naman ding discounts sa mga hotels but I don't really get the point of having this discount rates 'eh bata pa ako, ba't ko gusto malaman kung bakit. Haha. Basta ako, I want to skip that Feb 14 date kasi wala akong ka date.

Just read this post.

Tip from our Professor: Actually, I was not expecting that she will give this tip for us, sa mga may kadate.

"Love flies out of the window when your stomach is empty."

Second tip. From Rabsky (ako), thou shall not bring her to a burger stand. That's rude. Mas lalong mabadtrip ang babae sa'yo. At lalong never mo siyang papagastusin. Treat her. :)

Third tip. Take her to the movie house, pero dapat love story ang panonoorin niyo para may sense, not an action movie or horror. Where's the sense of celebrating valentines?

Fouth tip. H'wag umastang parang mag-asawa kayo during date. Hindi pa nga kayo kasal. Take it simple and surely. Treat your girl like a princess not a wife. :)

Fifth. Kung makipagdate ka na man dahil sa pustahan ng kabarkada mo, then don't do it. That's rude. Karamihan sa mga dates ganyan ang cases. Hindi ba kayo naawa sa babae? Mokong.

Sixth. Bring camera to capture every moments. Then thou shall not post it on social networking sites. Just keep it to yourself.

Seventh. Don't dare to post your location while dating.

Eight. Kung may balak man lang kayo makipagdate, magpagwapo naman kayo for good sake. Ayaw nilang mangamoy palengke ka. Special day 'yan, ano ba!

Ninth. Talking about presents. Wala namang kamatayang chocolates and flowers ang ipamimigay mo. Jusko, find another or better present for her. Something that she can relates on it. Malay niyo, ayaw niya ng chocolates or flowers.

Tenth. :)

Yan lang muna ang maibibigay kong tips. Kahit isa dito hindi ko pa natry. Haha. Kung meron man kayong idagdag, just leave a comment. Basta enjoy your Valentines. :)

I Met The Grim Reaper!

Unknown | Wednesday, January 26, 2011 | 7comments
So weird to share this experience regarding the presence of so-called "kamatayan" or the Grim Reaper. Gumising kaagad ako and never go back to sleep baka matuluyan pa ako.

The thing happened when I dreamt about my cousin's finally bearing a child. Suddenly, the environment changed, it turned to black and (I think I'm half awaken) I saw, just in front of me, the Grim Reaper, wearing this black cloak but the weird thing, I can't see his face.

After a minute, hindi pa rin ako makagising, and still he's looking at me (perhaps) and luckily, I escaped from his deep dark force inside my dream. I woke up thinking what was his purpose bakit nagpakita siya. I'm still curious. And why I can't see his face. Then I checked the time, 3:59am. I read this article online related to dark forces, stated "..if you can see the image of death (kamatayan) in your dreams around 3am, which is the devil hour, then perhaps he is up to something.." Little bit scared on my part. Due to this condition, I consulted Google and Wikipedia regarding the personification of death in my dream. Here are the results:

"To see the grim reaper in your dream, signifies the negative, rejected aspects of your personality. It represents aspects of yourself that you have repressed. Alternatively, it symbolizes death. The dream may parallel an end to some situation, habit, or relationship in your waking life." *(http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamthemes/characters.htm)

In conclusion, the only thing that I forgot during my nightmare was to call God for help. I don't know why I forgot Him to call. Perhaps that grim reaper controlled my mind. But still, I felt so guilty on why I didn't call Him. Second, think positive. Literally, I was thinking seeing myself inside the coffin due to my subconscious mind. After the nightmare, I woke up, with a small lurking disappointment, and full of thoughts and wonder. But still, I should learn to think positive. And lastly, pray always before and after sleeping. That is my weakness. I forgot to have communication with God before and after sleeping. and now I took it as a lesson-learned situation.

Why I Blog?

Unknown | Monday, January 24, 2011 | 0 comments
I’m one of a million people who own a blog. Typically, a blog is a type of website that is usually arranged in chronological order from the most recent ‘post’ (or entry) at the top of the main page to the older entries towards the bottom. Others considered blog as an online diary of chronological posts. There are blogging niche. You can think of having a travel blog, if you are travel enthusiasts. Perhaps photoblog fits you for liking photography or consider place blogs if you want to promote your locality.

I started blogging when I was in 2nd year high school with http://zupistam16.blogspot.com as the url. I don’t have any idea why I came up with that blog. I made a sketch plan of the design but as usual, it was an epic fail. It was my hobby to make a blog, to create a website via HTML codes or using of CSS and Java codes. Because my life is so emotional, I created my own blog on April 2008, entitled akosiRabsky.blogspot.com. Perhaps this was an accidental product of being emoism (?) and internet addict.

I have three primary reasons why I blog. First, I blog for I influence others. Blogging is a form of a newspaper for example. You can have tons of millions of readers worldwide and through blogging, you can have the power to encourage others through sharing your ideas and knowledge to them. Second, I blog for my community. My community oftentimes called the dangerous place has the most number of felonies which are a false statement. Through blogging, I have the authority to change the perception of people through positive impacts. Just like GenSantos.com that keeps on promoting about General Santos. Positive News = Improvements = Tourism = Investments. Lastly, I blog for emotional exercise. It's like my shoutout box, I blog anything, everything about myself and others, about my emotions towards others, heartaches, school failures. I called this thing an emotional exercise to release my emotions through blogging. According to some research (which I googled), many of bloggers (perhaps including myself) improved their emotional skills towards other people, less stress on their part. Most of the bloggers started as an emo blogger! :P

This is an entry to a blogging contest sponsored by Life with Ria and WebSpark.net.

Wishlist before 2010 ends

Unknown | Wednesday, December 22, 2010 | 8comments
Ang hirap talaga basta student blogger ka. You need to balance your schedules, your studies and commitments. Well as for me, I make all things not-so complicated. I'm darn crazy enough to attend school. Minsan nilalabas ang netbook during class at gumagawa ng blog posts. Ganyan ako ka-addict magblog. I considered it as a hobby. Just like playing basketball with friends or playing DOTA or Defense of the Ancients. But blogging has a big contribution in the netizen world. Problema ko ngayon, I can't even afford to buy a cheap point-and-shoot camera, just for my blogging activities. :(

I always keep in my mind that after a year, I should buy my own camera, not the damaged one. I owned this Canon camera which was quite good. Great output and it has 5 mega pixels, I think. But the problem is that, the lens of the camera won't go back if I'll turn it off. *toot toot*. I can't repair the damn camera because it costs around a brand new Nokia C3 (Php 5,000+). :(

That's why, I have this wishlist on my blog. I consider camera as an important thing for me, and I want it as a gift (kung merong magbigay 'jan) because in every major activities that we have, wala akong camerang gagamitin to capture every moments and to post it in here. It is really important as a blogger to have its own camera. I learned that even China Phones in the market can contribute to make your blog really interesting. (http://akosirabsky.blogspot.com/2009/12/photo-journalism-workshop-sox-bloggers.html) (Thanks to Ms. Jojie Alcantara for appreciating my piece of work). Ngayon ko lang din nabasa ang kanyang comment, for a long long time.

Rabsky,
I came in late in commenting. Very, very late.
But I want you to know I appreciate your thorough and detailed description of our activities.
I am also very happy that you've picked up a lot from my "fun lecture" and that you are brave enough to know that you can take beautiful images even with a china phone, once you set your mind to it.
Seriously, thank you for your honesty and refreshing views on life and blogging. I hope by now you are still pursuing your craft in photography.
Do not ever hesitate to contact me (via Facebook chuva and my sites) when something confuses you again.
Regards,
Ate Jojie Alcantara
Seriously, natouched ako dito. (Hindi literal). But somehow, I really want to be a professional photographer. Like the famous Jojie Alcantara, Leonard Pe, Apple Greatson Francisco, and among others. Pero may malaki pang panahon para 'jan. As long as I have this point-and-shoot camera, ok na ako 'jan. And as long as I shared every captured moments in cam and have posted it in my Facebook or in my blog. (Call me. Haha!)

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :)

One Thing in Common...

Unknown | Sunday, November 07, 2010 | 3comments
I've been in the blogging atmosphere for like 8 months. I met several bloggers of different races and faces but for sure, my blogger friends have one thing in common: That is, I'm very proud to say this but, they're so pretty! (Na-realize ko lang by looking at their photos in Facebook) Well except for male bloggers, of course. Ang ga-gwapo rin nila! No doubt. :)

It's fun to be a blogger. :)

Pasta Donita and Chicken Ati-Atihan: Busog sa Pagmamahal

Unknown | Friday, September 03, 2010 | 0 comments

The first one (Allura Mantala) celebrated her 18th Birthday (Her Debut) at Pasta Donita. Thanks to the débutante, nagkaroon ako ng chance to taste one of their specialties. The so-called "Beef and Mushroom Pasta". So lame! :'| (I hope Pasta Donita will provide some photos of the food)

Beef and Mushroom Pasta of Pasta Donita is like, one of the best Pastas na natikman ko. I can barely taste the duper creamy sauce of the pasta. Kailangan kong bumalik sa Pasta Donita at kakain ulit! (Visit Pasta Donita at RD Plaza, Daproza Avenue, General Santos City)

Pasta Donita's Video Commercial

After the dealing with delicious pasta, we invaded the Chicken Ati-Atihan, located along Pioneer Avenue, General Santos, to celebrate Jay Padao's 18th Birthday.

It is a typical two-storey restaurant with bamboo accent. The place is very unique compared to other ihaw-ihaw restos in the city because the environment is peaceful, lalo na kapag kumakain kayo sa taas. They have the nicest crews, so far, plus their nakakatulo-ng-laway na pagkaing pinoy like their famous Chicken Ati-Atihan Pecho and Halo-halo. (Visit Chicken Ati-Atihan at Pioneer Avenue, General Santos City)

Through this one, sana tataba ako nang husto. Super duper thanks to the birthday celebrants Allura and Jay for that memorable experience! Indeed, nabusog nila ako sa pagmamahal. :)

Flood ka! Anong nangyari?

Unknown | Monday, August 09, 2010 | 4comments
Wala na akong maisip na i-blog since I have a stable Internet Connection but still (alam niyo na), I can do daily blog post starting now!

But actually I'm not expecting this thing to happened.

It was 7:35pm, August 9, when the rain poured from the atmosphere.

As you can see, naging isang malaking swimming pool ang bakuran"

Ayun na nga, first time kong naka-experience ng pagbaha sa labas ng bahay mismo, with the fact that hinding-hindi talaga mismo, ever, bumabaha sa baranggay namin. My mom told me that it is the first time na nangyari 'to. So due to my curiosity, I stepped outside of the room, looked at the flooded area and lumakad sa maruming tubig.

"This was the scene infront of Epifanio delos Santos Elementary School in Malate, Manila during Aliwan Fiesta 2009. I took this photo as a remembrance. Bumaha rin nang todong-todo 'dun!"

Nagsilabasan din ang mga kapitbahay namin telling us that the water just invaded inside of their houses! Wala rin silang magagawa but wait for the water na huhupa. Parang nasa malaking river ako, kulang nalang mamingwit ng isda! Hahaha.

"Super don't try this, huh? Hanggang bagtak ko ang baha. After kong lumakad, biglang kumati ang mga paa ko."

Super weird experience though through this, may mapupulot tayo na lesson. This situation only tells that we need to take good care of our environment. Because the reason kung bakit bumaha sa amin because of uncollected garbage. That's our major problem, lalong-lalo na sa daanan namin. Walang nagkokolekta ng mga basura sa amin. So, the residents have no choice but to leave the garbage sacks on the corner.

Global Warming has something to do with it. So if we don't act right now, baka hanggang ulo na ang baha dito! Haha. :)

Naisip kita, Sir Orman!

Blogging is my atmosphere. I miss blogging so much. Mahirap talaga basta estudyanteng blogger ka. You need time, effort and mostly, patience if you’ll make a blog article.

May nakilala akong tao, he’s a full-time blogger and I don’t know what he has right now, basta I can define him as cuddly, happy-go-lucky type, friendly, loving and a great friend to everybody. Minsan nakakatamad ang ganyan, right? Well, this man certainly loves to write and publish his experiences. It’s just like his own online diary that everyone could read and state their comments. And because of that, mas lalong sumikat itong taong ito, for being one of the most visited personal blogs in the world wide web. Nakakawindang.

I forgot to ask him, “Why frogs? What’s with them na bakit gustung-gusto mo sila?”. I personally met this guy when I joined the Plurk Grand Eyeball, I think, last 2009 at Genee Resto, Oval Plaza. I was with Chariz Mundo, co-blogger. I met some of my friends in Plurk as well as in Facebook. Mga bloggers din pala sila. I had the opportunity to meet him, and also his brother, the author of famous GenSantos.Com. I think the most memorable one para sa kanya is when they gave him a wood-carve frog, medyo malaki in size, and it was so cute. He was emotional that time. He thanked everyone for that surprise gift.

I actively joined their group, the SOCSKSARGEN Bloggers, composed of different members in different places in Region 12. I blog often, I plurked a lot and I changed my status in Facebook everyday. Ganyan ang buhay ko when I joined them. Minsan, mahihiya ka ‘pang mag-usap with bloggermates and to the big bosses but this man told us na “don’t be shy”, after ‘nun wala na kaming hiya. Haha. But literally nandoon pa ‘yung feeling na nahihiya pa kami, especially ako, towards other bloggers.

Parati ko rin siyang makasama sa mga events, one of them was the SOCSKSARGEN SUMMER SAFARI last May. The night before the event, ‘dun kami natulog sa kanyang mahiwagang kwarto, with Alexis and Xyrilloid. Alexis and Xyril explained to me na ‘dun daw sila matutulog, in preparation for the summer safari. But well, I came up with my final decision na magse-sleep over sa kanila. ‘Dun ko narealize na habang sa pagtulog niya, parang may malaking barko na papaalis ng pantalan. Sobrang lakas. If you know what I mean. Hahaha. Peace. But kidding aside, through sleeping, ‘dun siya kumukuha ng lakas in order for him to continue his blogging activity. Akala ko wala siyang pahinga. Sa kanyang mga blog posts recently, lahat broken hearted ang topic, his journeys and experiences, etc. (End of Thinking Capacity)

He’s really a fat guy. Maybe some of his suitors around love him so much because of his cuddliness. Sarap daw siyang gawing unan. Try to ask him kung totoo kasi hindi ko pa nasubukan. Haha.

He’s a good manager, entrepreneur and great motivator. He’s like the big boss of every events in the city; manager of a well-known banking institution, a great entrepreneur of his own business (probably monkey business) and a loving uncle, friend and probably lover. That’s Sir Orman Manansala. If you don’t know him, well hindi ka taga GenSan.

I probably forced myself to do this blog post. Hahaha. Just kidding. This will be my last entry for the GESM Contest Week 7. Active nga ako sa Facebook, Plurk but not on the blogging side. Busy nga kayang maging estudyante. Thanks for the Portable Netbook, anywhere nagawa ko ‘tong piece na ‘to. And Sir Orman is a good example of that person. “Everything’s possible.”

UPDATE: Below. January 8, 2010.
---------------------------------------------------------------

"Can you fill this up for me? Kasi I'm illiterate."

I just posted this blog because I want to share this to my avid readers about the big, big problem regarding the security of the newly-renovated Plaza Heneral Santos.

Ito ang 38M-Plaza Heneral Santos, the newest place to hang-out with friends and families in town. It was opened last September 5, 2009, together with the closing ceremony of Tuna Festival. Naging kontrobersyal din ito because of over pricing. And the newest controversy is the signage of the park. As time goes by, nawawala nang nawawala one by one ang mga letra ng Plaza Heneral Santos.

Everytime I visited the park, nawawala paisa-isa ang mga letra, tulad nung nakaraang araw na "PLAZA HE-ERAL SANTOS", naging headline pa 'yun ng balita, then due to sloppiness of our securities in the park, pinagmumultahan sila para lang maipalit sa nawawalang letra. After how many days, nawawala na naman ang "PLAZA HENERAL SAN-OS", nawawala si letter T, at nang bumalik kami noong January 4, 2010, ito na ang bumungad sa amin.

"They can't spell it right, what's wrong with them?"

I told my colleagues na "ansarap naman itong picturan, i-blog at makapagcomment man lang about the signage". This is not the first time na nawawala ang mga letra sa signage but for the 3rd time. I also noticed that the light bulbs that formed a ship at the front of Jose Rizal Statue, unti-unting nababasag, nako, ewan ko ba.

Sana the City Government will take some further actions regarding the missing of letters of this signage. I mean, this park is for our own good, lahat naman tayo nakikinabang kasi pera natin ito, pera na nagmumula sa katas ng VAT, Taxes, etc.

Here are some PROBLEMS and CONSEQUENCES that the Park is facing nowadays:

  • The ornaments in the park are obviously "FOR YOUR EYES ONLY". Kelangan mong palitan 'yung nasira mo, the way it was.
  • "KEEP OFF THE GRASS", if you don't follow this order, someone will make "PITO" on you. This order is just simple.
  • "THROW YOUR GARBAGE IN THE TRASH BIN", those trash bins are located anywhere in the park. Color BLACK ito. Just throw your waste in respective trash bins para kakaunti lang ang trabaho ng taga-bantay ng pasyalan, *at para alagaan din natin ang ating Inang Kalikasan*. If you don't follow this orders, it's either MULTA or SEE-YOU-IN-JAIL.
  • The most important thing is "THOU SHALL NOT STEAL", eh ito na nga ang nangyari sa signage ng Plaza Heneral Santos. Hindi lang ang signage ang pinagbawal, kundi lahat ng ari-ari-an na nakikita mo sa pasyalan ay bawal kunin, don't steal it. If someone will caught you, then magse-celebrate ka ng kaarawan mo sa kulungan or maghihirap ka sa piyansang nakalaan.

Through this blog post, I hope na natulungan ko ang bayang minahal ko, ang pasyalan ng mga Generals, I'm just concern on what's happening to our park, pinaghirapan natin ito, pinag-gastusan, at sana naman, mahalin at ipagmalaki natin ito. :D

    UPDATE! UPDATE!

  • Kanina, January 6, 2010, my friends and I decided to stroll around the park, again. Nagulat nalang kami kasi kagagaling lang din namin sa park just two days ago, then on my mind, inisip ko na "SAAN ANG HUSTISYA NITO?" Spot the Difference:

"I took this one last January 4, 2010, 5:16 PM"

"A recent photo of the signage of Plaza Heneral Santos, kinunan kanina, January 6, 2010, 1:36 PM"

"Dito nakalagay sa spot na ito ang word "PLAZA", ngayon, nawala nalang ito na parang bula"

"Dito ako mas lalong nagulat, missing ang logo ng GenSan. Saan kaya nagtatago ang logong iyon?"

    "HENER, nasaan si AL?"

"SAN? Sino si SAN? SANTOS 'yan dapat, 'diba?"

I don't know what happened to the signage.

    UPDATE! UPDATE! January 8, 2010

I interviewed two security personnels in the park, with the help of my BSIT Classmates of course. I know this is like, a pretty tough job for me, but I must ask and interrogate them regarding the missing letters. So I used my "KAPAL MUKHA" powers and practicing "what should I ask to them" speeches thingy.

Nakalimutan kong mag-ask about their names, dahil siguro sa kinakabahan ako. I saw their name patches. Sina Baunillo and Abdullah, one of the security personnels sa park and I asked them:

NOTE: During the interview, we were using BISAYA language.. but I translated it into TAGLISH for you to understand it. :)

"What happened to the signage there?"

  • -> It's actually in the Office (CSU, City Hall). Pero mayroon namang nagbabantay jan to secure the signage.

"Totoo po 'yung binalita sa TV and radio about sa nawalang letra nung una?"
  • -> Hindi totoo. Hindi totoo na mayroong nagnakaw at nawala ang isang letter ng signage. Isang radio station ang nagbalita na mayroong nagnakaw, hanggang sa kumalat nalang ang maling balita.

"Nasa pangangalaga po ba ng CSU ang mga signage steels ngayon? Even the Logo? Kasi nung dumaan ako rito kahapon (Jan 7) nawala na po ang letters, at baka ma-misinterpret na ninakaw ulit ito."
  • -> Yes. Baka gusto niyong makita na nandun nga, malapit lang sa Canteen ng City Hall ang office ng CSU. Kinuha na namin 'yun kahapon kasi papalitan namin 'yun. Maybe next week i-install na dun ang bagong signage.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At least naman hindi ninakaw ang mga letra ng signage, pero gusto ko ring marinig ang inyong reaksyon or kommento regarding this issue. :)
  • Christmas Day Tragedy

    Unknown | Friday, December 25, 2009 | 4comments
All Generals celebrated Christmas with their family in their homes but all of the sudden a big explosion rocked the city proper around 12 midnight.

Malapit lang ang bahay namin sa Oval Plaza, where the incident happened. We were celebrating Christmas Eve around 11 in the evening, December 24. After the family bonding, we decided to go out to see the fireworks.

During the incident, shows that fire is all over the place. Photo courtesy: Michael Voughn Esma Schuck

I'm not expexting na that time is the worst night. All people in streets were running to see the pyro on the other side of the horizon (Oval Plaza) pero mas lalong lumala ang pagsabog and my mom could feel the earth-shaking movement na parang lumilindol due to big explosions. I can see the smoke, very big smoke and also the pyro.

The incident made me nervous a lot. Oh no, hindi ako mapakali. Nanood lang ang mga tao habang ako'y naka-online kaagad sa Facebook and Plurk to spread the breaking news.

Pinilit naming pumunta sa lugar, with my sister, to cover it. I'm with my kuya and we went to Oval. I saw many people sitting on the street side, very nervous, crying and shaking. Natrauma sila sa nangyari kasi before the incident, maraming mga tao ang nasa Oval to celebrate Christmas. Madami ring taong nanood sa lugar. Firecracker and Pyro stalls ang nasunog, sa Pendatun Avenue, fire out na nung pumunta kami at nag-iimbestiga ang mga bombero at pulis kung anong sanhi ng pagsunog.

I took some photos after the incident. But I grabbed some photos from Michael Voughn Esma Schuck in Facebook of during ng sunog and here it is:

Malapitang kuha ng nangyari. On the lower right side of the picture shows na nahihirapan ang fireman sa pag-aapula ng apoy. Photo courtesy: Name

Take a look at this one: This was taken in Taaz Bar. The White Circle shows a big smoke and it looks like an image of a person. The Red one looks like a demon laughing and looking down during the incident. This was taken by Brian Congson.

I took this picture after the incident.

I don't have any idea about the exact number of casualities but according to Umagang Kay Ganda, early this morning, 3 ang namatay, 2 ang sugatan.

You know what guys, this is a lesson for us that we should not use this kind of materials for Christmas and New Year. It may cause damage from properties and even your life. Christmas is not all about firecrackers or drinking alcoholic stuffs and you'll out of your mind and going crazy there, it's all about family bonding and celebrating the birth of Christ. ^^

Photo Journalism Workshop & SOX Bloggers Christmas Party: Part 1 - Anything Goes

    Unknown | Wednesday, December 23, 2009 | 6comments
Hindi ako nagdalawang isip na sumali sa Photo Journalism Workshop & SOX Bloggers Christmas Party na ginanap sa The Farm at Carpenter Hills in Koronadal City last December 21. I prepared a lot for the said event, humanda ako ng regalo. Pinili ko ang valuable gift fot the person na makabunot nun as part of the requirement sa x-mas party. I don't have a snapshot of the gift mismo but I have the wrapped gift image with me. :)

My gift for the SOX Christmas Party

I arrived the meeting place at exactly 7:30 am, sa harap pala ng Puriculture Center, just beside the City Hall. Natense pa ako because akala ko late na ako and they left me, pero thank God nakita ko ang presence nina Sir Avel and Sir Gilbert na nag-uusap sa tabi ng L300 van. Oh anlaki pala ng mga mata ko. Yun pala nag-aantayan pa sila and kami na nina ate Hannah and ate Van ang nakarating that time.

After 5 mins, dumating sina kuya Tanchi, ate Mel and kuya Roman, mga Dameans. I saw them carrying DSLR's and nainggit ako. I don't have a camera to use for the seminar except my old china phone. But still it's useless because it's not a good camera. VGA lang yun and siguro mga 0.2MP lang yun and the color's too malasaw.

After 5 minutes, Ma'am Jinky's two daughters arrived. Sina ate Rafi and Tina. Actually, Tina's my former schoolmate sa MSU-CETD when I was in high school but we're not totally close that time. I thank God, again, may companion akong at least kakilala ko at hinding-hindi akong mahiyang makipag-usap. Pero I should use my EPAL POWERS to know other bloggers.

We were still waiting for others until I saw a BLUE "FORD" car which was too familiar for me. There, I saw someone opened the door of the car and he stepped out. He's wearing orang-colored polo shirt with new haircut. So, he's no other than Sir Orman. He's with the guest speaker / lecturer, so I grabbed the opportunity to see her. Pero meron talagang tumatakbo sa isip ko that time. She looks familiar to me, maybe I saw her before or "DEJAVU". It really bothers me, A LOT.

When they decided to go na, as in aalis na sa GenSan, na-excite pa ako nang todong-todo. We left 8:30 in the morning. As we travelling, merong ice breaker na ginanap. Thanks to kuya Roman, with his intelligence and humor, pinasaya at pinasakit niya ang mga ulo namin sa kakaisip sa kanyang ice breakers like "Ping Pong Pang", his "The answer is the number of the answer" game and "guess what's in the music room" game. I know naaliw din sina kuya Tanchi, sir Gilbert, ate Rafi, ate Van, ate Mel and Tina. During the ice breaker game, I saw sir Avel sleeping sa front seat. Hindi halatang kulang sa tulog si sir. :)

Time ran so fast as we arrived in the venue at 9:30am. I was not expecting na makarating kami very very fast.

Watch Out for the Part Two...
